WIZZO
A small independent concern from the Punk / New
Wave era. Wizzo was the replacement for a label called 'Uptown' which didn't
quite happen: see the 'Might Have Beens' page. It issued only two records.
WIZZO-1 was the Disco Zombies, 'Invisible' EP, which had been scheduled
for release on Uptown in May 1978 but had been unavoidably delayed. It came out in September 1979,
and its matrix number, BSS-371, indicates that it was made through custom
recording firm Tank Records (q.v.). WIZZO-2, 'Pessimist's
Paradise' b/w 'Desert Island' by Delusion, followed in
November. According to Music Master, distribution was by
Uptown. Thanks to Robert Bowes for the first scan.
