WAKE UP

A slightly odd label, from Oxford.  Wake Up appears to have issued five records, using a WUR-0 numerical series; two of them were flexi-discs.   WUR-3 was The Androids' minimal electronic disco single, 'Love Dance' b/w 'Android Love', which was pressed in proper vinyl and was also available in 12" form as 12-WUR-3; WUR-4 was a single-sided flexi version of 'Love Dance'.  There was also an Androids album, 'Disco Dream And The Androids' (WUR-2; 1979).  The second flexi is of interest to fans of Hawkwind: it features that band's frontman Robert Calvert, singing a song called 'Cricket Star' (WUR-5; 9/79).  The company seems to have come and gone in late 1979.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.  For other commercially-available flexis see Petrol, Silver Discs and Charmers.
