A mystery. All I can do with Wabaelco, I'm sad to say, is acknowledge its existence. The company issued at least one record, the single shown above, 'Alleluia !' by Little Fred, which came out in 1971 and had a catalogue number of WAB-1. According to Robert Bowes, who kindly brought the label to my attention and supplied the scan, the songs on it are in a Christian Folk / Pop vein. It would be nice to know where the label name came from - I don't remember there being an angel Wabael; could the 'El' be from 'Eloi'? - but I don't suppose I ever will. The actual label is vaguely reminiscent of the Saydisc (q.v.) label from around that period; but that really is grasping at straws.
