VALER
American in origin. According to Billboard magazine of the 4th of
June 1977 , Valer Records was an arm of the American firm Valenr
Industries, which specialized in selling products on TV; a Various
Artists album, 'The Black And White Connection' (VRTV-1; 5/77) was
reportedly sold in that way over here. Valer is respected in Punk circles
for issuing an LP, Further Temptations' (VRLP-1; 12/77), and a single, 'Bone
Idol' (VRS-1; 10/77), by The Drones. The latter seems to have
been its sole 7" release. Valer (UK) operated from 1977-c.78,
and its products were distributed by Wynd Up. 'Billboard' (14th
May 1977) says that manufacture was by CBS. According to Music
Master, 'Bone Idol' was also released as a cassingle by Fifth Avenue Records
(CAS-107; 11/77). Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.
