RISK (1)
The first Risk label of the 1970s was something of an obscurity. The only record on it to which I've
ever seen a reference was the single shown above, 'Cross Roads' b/w 'Jezebel' by
Sweeney (SW-1). The date on the 'A' side suggests that it was issued
in 1971, but the 'B' is reported to have '1962' on it. The fact that
the prefix ties-in with the group's name suggests an early DIY
effort. Sa can be seen, the label was plain black, with silver
printing. Engineer J. Greenslade may have been John Greenslade of
Exeter Sound Recording, which would point to Sweeney coming from the South
West. Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.
