RED NECK
An
ephemeral label from 1976. The only single I have ever found on Red
Neck is the one pictured above, 'Tongue Tied Jill' b/w 'Gone Gone Gone' by
Rockabilly legend Charlie Feathers (R-100). Rumour has it that there
was also an album. Pressing was by Polydor, as the injection moulding
suggests. The 'Country Groove' label (q.v.) looked very similar and
operated at around the same time; it may be that the two labels were
connected. The two tracks on the Charlie Feathers single, which are
re-recordings of a couple of his hits, also saw the light of day
on a Charly Records EP (CEP-116) in September the following year.
