QPR (M.E.I.)

A one-off label from 1972.  Records by members of football teams were scarce in the 1960s, but for better or worse - usually worse - the '70s saw a rash of them.  As you may have guessed, the only single that this first QPR label of the decade put out was by the Queens Park Rangers Football Team.  It was called 'Rangers Rangers' and it had a catalogue number of MEI-001.  The company behind the release, Music Enterprises International, were also responsible for another football record, this time by Tottenham Hotspur; it came out on the Spurs label (q.v.) and was numbered MEI-102.  Both songs were written by the same man, Stephen Melzack.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.
