A prominent New Wave Of British Heavy Metal label. Neat was based in Newcastle and was owned initially by David Wood. It is probably best known among non-aficionados of NWOBHM for its records by Venom, though it issued the first single by the Tygers Of Pan Tang, who went on to sign to major label MCA. Most of Neat's 40-odd singles and 50-odd LPs were released after the '70s, but its first three singles appeared in 1979. Numbering was in the NEAT-00s.
