MUNDANE MUSIC

A small independent label from Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.  Mundane Music's only release from the '70s was an EP by Extrovert Introvert, which offered the tracks 'Melancholy Tunes', 'Hillside Conversation', 'Here And Gone' and 'One Armed Bandit'.  It was pressed by Orlake and had a catalogue number of MM-001.  Singer and multi-instrumentalist Tom Martin was one half of the duo, and he appears to have been the force behind the label: as artist, composer or producer he had a hand in its other three releases, all of which date from the '80s.  A post-Punk Various Artists LP, 'Owt Fer Nowt', came out in 1981 as MML-002.  It was followed by a couple of singles: 'The Other Way' b/w 'One Way Street' by The Nomads (MM-0003; 1983), and, after a gap, The Outsiders' 'The Northern Queen' b/w 'The Great Depression' (MM-0004; 1988).  Thanks to Steve Hill for the scan and to Klepsie of the 45Cat site for letting me know about the '80s releases.
