MONTAGU
An
obscure and short-lived label from c.1972, run by Colin
Edwards. Montague was a
member of the Beacon Records stable. It released two records
by Bruce Spelman, an album, 'You Don't Know
What You're Paddling In (MONS-1), and a single, '29 Years
To Doomsday' b/w 'Cutting The Traces Leaving The Places' and 'Remember This' (MONT-3000;
1972); it also issued an album by Barrington Davis, 'Tracks Of
My Mind (MONT-2). All three go for respectable prices nowadays. Manufacture and
distribution were by EMI.
