MONARCH

A bit of a latecomer for this list, Monarch appeared in 1979 but saw most of its action in the early '80s.  Under its manager Stan Blackman it issued more than fifty singles, mostly in a MON-0 numerical series.  MON-49 came out in October 1983; at some point shortly afterwards the numbering seems to have changed to the MON-000s for some reason.  With the likes of J. J. Barrie, Max Bygraves and the Krankies in its books the company seems to have had distinct Easy / Pop leanings, but it did put out a Punk single, 'Doin' The Lambeth Walk', by The Introze (MON-037; 1982).  Distribution was by Pye / PRT.  The discography below only covers the 1970s and is therefore of no great help.
