MMA

Borderline, this one, as MMA's records were intended for promotional purposes and weren't available to the general public, but as they're happened upon occasionally and someone may be mildly interested to hear of them I've taken an executive decision and included it here.  MMA was the label of a company called Mitchell Monkhouse Associates, the 'Monkhouse' being comedian Bob, the 'Mitchell' composer / musician Malcolm.  Denis Norden and Michael Igrams were also involved, as was producer Henry Howard.  It was based in Piccadilly, London.  Initially the company produced music for jingles, commercials and the like, but it moved into the field of presentations and business conferences.  Such of its records as I have managed to track down date from 1970 to 1975 and are listed below; there may well be others.  A couple were made through EMI's custom recording service, as their SLE and SECW prefixes indicate, while another was made through Lyntone and had a Lyntone number.  Often the label design featured the logo of the company for whom the record was being made - Rank Xerox, Green Shield Trading, Argos and Lyons Maid were cases in point - with MMA Presentations being reduced to a mention among the credits.  Thanks to Steviebgoode of the 45Cat site for permission to use his scan here.
