MELODY
Apparently a one-off
DIY label. Triandafilos's 'Dikeomamou' b/w 'Simerini Gineka' seems to have
been the only recording on Melody. The catalogue number, SRTS/CUS/77081,
indicates that it was made through custom recording firm SRT in 1977, and the
sleeve indicates that funding was made available by the Rendezvous Tavern
restaurant. I would imagine that Triandafilos was an expatriate, perhaps
living in London, but it wasn't unknown for records to be pressed here that were
intended for sale in countries that had no pressing facilities of their own -
Malta, for example - so this may possibly be one of those. The label has
the look of an Orlake pressing. Thanks to Malcolm Henderson of the 45cat
site for the use of his scan.
