MAYFAIR

Mayfair appears to have been the label of Scottish Club / Cabaret singer May Harold; the only two records on the label that I have managed to trace were by her.  The first, which was issued in 1977, was a three-track EP / maxi-single featuring 'Silver Threads And Golden Needles', 'The Show Must Go On' and 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina'.  Its catalogue number, TD-7225, belongs to a series that was used by Craighall Studios (q.v.) of Edinburgh, and its label has a typically Craighall appearance.  It can be found in two forms, one giving the artist as 'Mayfair' (1), the other crediting May Harold (2).  1979 saw the release of a four-track EP; the tracks on it were 'Wuthering Heights', San Antone Rose', 'You Needed Me' and 'Stephen'.  Its catalogue number, SRTS/79/CUS-529, shows that it was one of SRT's custom recordings.  As can be seen, the labels of that record were typical SRT basic-but-functional orange ones (3).  Thanks to Dr. Doom and Klepsie of the 45cat site for bringing Mayfair to my attention; Dr. Doom kindly supplied the first scan, and another 45catter, Jimboo, provided the third.  See also 'TD (Craighall Studios)', 'Ca Va', 'Road', and 'Phoenix Promotions'.
