A Manchester-based label. Hologramme Music was dedicated to the music of New Wave / Post Punk band The Hoax, whose drummer Mike Joyce went on to become a member of The Smiths. Its only release of the 1970s was the ''Only The Blind Can See In The Dark' EP (HOAX-1; 12/79). Some sources give the release date as January 1980, which would put the label outside the scope of this site, but 'Record Collector' and John D. Luerssen's book 'The Smiths F.A.Q.' both give December 1979, as does the Bored Teenagers Site, which features an account by bassist Steve Mardy. Catalogue numbers went up to HOAX-6 but both Discogs and Bored Teenagers list only four records, so it looks as though not all the numbers may have been used.
