FAST PRODUCT
A Punk / New Wave label. Headed by Bob Last, and operating
out of Edinburgh, Fast Product put its first single out in
January 1978 and seems to have made no new records after December
1979. Last proved to have an eye for potential: his stable included
the Mekons, the Gang of Four, and, most notably, the Human
League. The label design appears to have changed from record to
record, though the logo remained a constant. The red label shown
above (5) is from a 1982 reissue of the Human League's single, which got into
the charts on the back of the group's successful singles for Virgin - originals
have a monochrome label in a different design (2). Pressing and
distribution of the reissue was by EMI. Albums,
EPs, singles and associated objects shared the same FAST-0 numerical
series. The discography below only covers the label's singles.

those of FASTs 2, 4 and 12.
