EXONIA
Exonia seems to have been a DIY
label. It issued at least one record, the EP shown above, 'Golden
Sands' by the Frankie Bell Combo (EXEP-1). There's no date on it, but
it was recorded at West of England studios, Torquay, which was active from 1969
until 1978 before being taken over and renamed, so the '70s is a good bet.
Exonia was named after the Golden Sands Holiday Camp, at Dawlish, where the
Frankie Bell Combo spent several consecutive years as resident
entertainers during that decade. The songs on the EP are average Club /
Cabaret / Holiday Camp fare.
