ELEPHANT (TUN prefix)

The second Elephant label of the '70s also appears to have been a small independent concern.  It ran to at least a couple of singles.  Its first release was 'Forgotten Song' and 'Troubadour' by Pete Kiely, who had been a guitarist with Stonefield Tramp; the single was recorded in Quest (q.v.) studios, and it came out in 1979 with a catalogue number of TUN-1.  TUN-2, which was issued in the following year, offered three tracks by The Form: 'Watch Out' b/w 'Start Again' and 'London Underground'.  It is highly collectable, and it goes for three-figure sums.  The labels, which were designed by Ray Turner, deserve a mention: having the elephant's front on the 'A' side and its rear end on the 'B' side was a nice touch.  Stonefield Tramp had their own label, 'Tramp' (q.v.).  Thanks to Nicholas Hough for the scans, and to Klepsie of the 45cat site for letting me know about The Form's record.
