DESTINY
(2)
One of several labels devoted to licensing American Soul singles, though
it appears to have re-recorded some material. This particular Destiny
was based in Nottingham, and was run by Goldmine / Soul Supply's Kev
Roberts. It seems to have been active in 1979-80; that is,
during the latter part of the Northern Soul boom. Numbering was in
the DS-1000s and reached DS-1026, though not all the numbers were used.
There were also a few 12" singles in 1980. Distribution was by
initially by Swift and latterly by Pinnacle. Pressing of the only
example that I've seen in the vinyl was by Pye. The discography below only
covers the '70s. Not all the available numbers appear to have been
used.
