DAISY REKORDS

A small independent / DIY label.  Daisy Rekords seems to have been responsible for just the one release, a single by Zabandis * John, 'Daisy Bell'e' b/w 'Luvly Rumours'.  The single had a catalogue number of NWW-5, and it appears to have come out in 1977 - there's a '1977' on the 'B' side and a '1975' on the 'A'.  Vocalist and producer Johnny Wells looks to have been the man behind the label.  Zabandis was a Reggae band that recorded quite prolifically in the late '70s and early '80s, which may explain why this single is reasonably collectable.  Both sides are Reggae.  The 'A' is an adaptation of 'Daisy, Daisy, Give Me Your Answer Do', which isn't something that I would have expected to hear Reggaefied; the 'B' is more straightforward.  The master was cut at Strawberry studios, and pressing appears to have been done by WEA.  The record came in a picture sleeve.
