CMP (2)

One of those cases where I can do little more than note the existence of a label, though thanks to RKO of the 45cat site I can also add his scan.  This CMP seems to have issued just one record: an EP by Barry Richards, which featured 'Penny Arcade' and 'Like A Symphony' in addition to the two tracks shown above.  The EP came out in 1976 and had a catalogue number of CMP-001.  This CMP may possibly be related to the earlier label - that was dedicated to Country music and, to judge from two self-financed LPs of his from later in the decade, Richards appears to have had leanings in that direction.  There again, the earlier CMP was based in Liverpool, and Pollen Studios, through which this EP was made, were in Haxby, Yorkshire.  In addition the catalogue numbers were in a different series, the label designs are different and there's something like a four-year gap between them.  On balance I'm inclined to think they were separate concerns, so I've given them separate pages.  If anybody knows anything about this CMP or has happened upon any other CMP releases, I'd be pleased to hear about it.  Just for the sake of interest Richards's two LPs were 'By Request' (SRTZ-78400) from 1978 and 'Barry Richards' (SRTY/79/CU-559) from 1979.  Both were made through custom recording firm SRT (q.v.)
