BARCLAY TOWERS

An independent label from the Punk / New Wave era.  Barclay Towers was an Edinburgh-based recording studio, and was owned by Tony Pilley.  It issued three singles, by The Brills, the Electric Personalities and Pilley himself, in 1979-80.  It also released a compilation LP, 'Scottish Kultchur'.  The label design seems to have varied from record to record rather than to have reflected a company identity.  Singles by Metropak, which were recorded at the studio, appeared on that band's own 'Metropak' label (q.v.), and the label credit on the Electric Personalities record was to 'Barclay Tyres' rather than 'Towers' - the sleeve, however, had 'Towers'.
