AVCO-EMBASSY FILMS
One of those cases where a label doesn't seem to have had an actual name
on it; but as Avco-Embassy Films was responsible for the record I've
listed it under their name. The record in question
was a one-sided promotion-only single featuring Buffy
Sainte-Marie's 'Soldier Blue', which was made in 1971 - the film of that
name was a big hit in Britain that year. The matrix number on the run-off
was SBP-1 - presumably standing for 'Soldier Blue Promo' or something along
those lines. Manufacture was by RCA; the labels have that shine which
appears to have been peculiar to early-'70s RCA pressings. The vinyl is
very thin. 'Soldier Blue' received a proper release that same year, backed
with 'Moratorium', on RCA (RCA-2081).
