AVADA

An independent Folk label, run by Steve Hutt.  Avada lasted from 1978-c.80, and issued about a dozen records.  Most of them were LPs, but there were also three singles and an EP, which are listed below.  None of them are commonly seen nowadays.  Generally 7" and 12" records shared the same AVx-100 catalogue numbers, with different prefixes for the different formats: AVA for albums, AVEP for the Arizona Smoke Review EP (AVEP-108; 1980), and 'AVS' for the single by Les Barker, 'Quasi B. Goode' b/w 'Dream' (AVS-112; 1980).  Phil Beer's single from August 1980, 'Dance With Me' b/w 'Fairweather Friend', was numbered AVS-101; presumably the AVS-100s were intended to form a separate series from that point, but it seems to have started and ended with that single.  Distribution in 1980 was initially by Pinnacle.  See also 'Cotswold Records'.  Thanks to Nicholas Hough for the scan.
