RoSPA

The label of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, RoSPA was home to a one-off Road Safety single by the Children Of Argyle School, Camden, 'The Green Cross Code Song' (ROSPA-1), which came out in 1971 and is mainly of interest because the 'B' side, 'When You're Young', was by Folk band Magna Carta.  The single can also be found on various other labels; so far I've found it on 'Hackney Accident Prevention Committee', 'City Of Oxford Road Safety Organisation', 'London Borough Of Barking' and 'London Borough Of Camden' (q.v. all).  As those versions have the matrix number ROSPA-1 in the run-off and a credit to RoSPA on the 'B' side labels it would appear that the ROSPA disc was made available for similar bodies to have their own pressings made.  There may possibly be other versions out there.  In all the cases that I've seen so far, manufacture was by Phonodisc.  Thanks to Nicholas Hough for the scan.
