ROLLERCOASTER
A long-lived organization specializing in rare
and obscure Rock 'n' Roll, Rollercoaster - the name is split on the labels but
not the sleeves - started issuing records on its own label in 1978; the example
shown above came out in 1979. It is one of the few labels in this
list - perhaps the only one - which is still producing 7" vinyl records today
(2006), and most of its old singles and EPs are still available. The
company's singles seem to have used three separate numbering series: RRC-2000,
SR-700 and, c.1981, PFE-000. Roller Coaster is still (2006)
carrying out a flourishing mail-order business from its base in Chalfont,
Gloucestershire. According to Music Master, 'Jukebox Rock 'n' Roll', by
Ray Coleman (RRC-2000), was distributed by CRD when it came out in February
1978. By July 1979 Rollercoaster records were being handled by
Pinnacle. The discography only covers the 1970s. Thanks to
Sam Mauger for the scan of the demo.
