ROCKSTAR / ROCK STAR

 

A reissue label, dedicated for the most part to the recordings of Rock 'n' Roller Eddie Cochran.  Rockstar Records issued singles in an RSR SP-3001 series, and EPs in an RSR EP-2000 one; it also issued LPs, which needn't concern us here.  The first Rockstar records appeared in 1979; the company was still issuing LPs in 1991, though the pace of the releases had slowed somewhat by then.  The label's name is split on the labels themselves, but on EP sleeves it is given as 'Rockstar'.  By 1982 the red label had turned black and the logo had changed; the split in the label name had also disappeared.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the first scan and for drawing the label to my attention.  The discography below only covers the '70s.
