ROCHE
The label of Roche Studios, of
Cornwall. I have only been able to find two records on Roche, both of
which were by Post-Punk band the Brainiac Five. They were the 'Mushy
Doubt' EP (RREP-5001; 1978), on which the label name is given as 'Roach
Records', and a single, 'Working' (RR-5002; 1979). However, a
single by Jethro & The Misty Dream Band on the 'The Man' label (q.v.), which
was recorded at Roche, has a scratched-out matrix number of RR-0012 on the
run-off. This may indicate that it was originally intended to be
released on Roche, and that there are other Roches out there in that RR-0000
series. Presumably, if there are, they would have been custom
recordings, and so the quantities pressed would have been small, which would
account for their untraceability. The Brainiac 5 single has
matrix numbers proper to both Ellie Jay and Lyntone on the run-off: EJSP-9313
and LYN-7543 IT / 7454 IT.
