RED
SHIFT
A DIY label, dating from 1979. Red
Shift's only release seems to have been a split single, with Karel Fialka's,
'Armband' on one side and 'Ghosts' by Sven The Busker on the
other. Its catalogue number was SJP-800/RS-01/10; the 'SJP' indicates
that custom-recording concern Fair Deal studios of Hayes was
responsible for the recording. Fialka went on to record for the
Blueprint label (q.v.); he had a minor hit for them in 1980 with, 'The Eyes Have
It' (BLU-2005). Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan of the label, and
to Sam Mauger for the scan of the sleeve.
