R.D. RECORDINGS

From the Channel Islands.  R.D. Recordings was the label of a firm called Richmond Developments, which appears to have been mainly in the business of hotels.  It seems to have issued just the one record, an EP, 'Visions Of Guernsey', by singer Noel De Carteret, which in addition to the tracks shown above offered versions of 'Penny Piece Of Candy' and 'Inamorata'.  Twelve-year-old Christine LeHuray shared the vocals on the former.  There's no date on the labels but thankfully the sleeve gives the year of release as 1970.  The catalogue number, PNO-643, doesn't fit any series that I'm aware of, but manufacture was by British Homophone.  The tracks were recorded 'live' at the Miramar Hotel, which suggests that the EP was intended for sale to guests there.  For other De Carteret records see 'Sarnia' and 'The Islanders'.  Thanks to Stephen Small for not only bringing R.D. to my attention but also for supplying a copy of the EP.
