An independent label owned by Chris Sievey, of Manchester Punk band The Freshies. Most of Razz's releases were by that band, or by its individual members. Some nine singles / EPs were issued during 1979-c.80, starting with The Freshies', 'Washed Up' EP (RAZZ EP-1; 1978). Two of their other EPs, 'Straight In At No. 2' (RAZZ EP-2) and 'Men From Banana Island' (RAZZ EP-3) came out in 1979; the rest were from 1980. Singles were numbered in the RAZZ-0s; EPs generally had an 'EP' between the prefix and the number. Eventually the Freshies were signed by MCA.
