RAMPAGE
Rampage was one of Larry Page's labels; a successor to Page One and
Penny Farthing, it ran from the spring of 1978 until around the middle of
1981. A glance at its singles listing suggests a Disco / Pop / MOR
slant. Singles used a RAM-0 numbering series: the highest number that
I have found is RAM-48, but there are some large and unexplained gaps in the
catalogue, as the discography below demonstrates. I can't imagine the
company issuing fourteen google-proof singles during the last three months of
1978, and eleven more during the next three months; a couple of jumps in
the numbering seems far more likely. Manufacture was by Decca and
distribution by Selecta until the spring of 1980, when Rampant went to Polygram
with the other Decca labels.
