PIERHEAD
A small independent label. The only 7"
release on Pierhead seems to have been 'There Goes That Smile' b/w 'King Of The
World Of Love' by Colin Baldwin. It had a catalogue number of PML-101
and it came out in 1976. Pressing was by Lyntone; the matrix numbers
were LYN-3589 and 3590. There was also at least one LP, 'A Portrait Of
Sid
Slater' (PH-360 / 1), which was also from 1976. The LP
was sponsored by instrument retailers Hodges & Johnson, who had shops
in Southend-on-Sea and Westcliff-on-Sea, so it seems likely that Pierhead was from
that area. Colin Baldwin had recorded previously for
A&M; he went on to make a single for Gold Records (q.v.) in 1979.
