MISS CHIEF

Apparently a small independent label, attached to a firm called Pomfern Ltd.  Miss Chief seems to have managed just one single, 'Sister Revolution' b/w 'Carry It Through' by the Teresa D'Arbeu Band; it came out in December 1978 according to the 45cat site and had a catalogue number of MC-1.  Information on Pomfern is scanty, but the London Gazette of the 24th of July 1981 had it listed among the firms which had been struck off the Companies Register that month.  Teresa D'Arbeu was a founder member of the Sadista Sisters but she left that group in 1977, not liking the 'Punky' direction which it had taken.  Her band's single has a soulful-sounding 'A' side and a rockier 'B'.  Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing Miss Chief to my attention: he says that the radio station for which he worked received a copy of the single in 1979, which ties in with 45Cat's dating.
