LENNIE FELIX

A DIY label.  During the first part of his career pianist Lennie Felix was a member of the bands of such luminaries of the British Jazz scene as Nat Gonella and Sid Philips; latterly he worked and recorded both solo and with his trio.  From the early 1960s until his untimely death in 1981 he made several LPs for companies here and abroad, but the record which earned him a place on this site was a four-track EP which he issued on his own label in 1976.  Tracks on it were 'Freakin' Out', 'Messing In Maida Vale', 'Morning Stroll' and 'Boogie Back', and its catalogue number was LF-1.  Its matrix numbers, RDB-843/4, are from a series that sadly isn't familiar to me.  Thanks to Stephen Small for bringing the record to my attention and to Nicholas Hough for providing the scan.
