JEFF HUDSON
One of those cases where a label probably never actually had a name and
I've had to use the artist's name to give it an identity. Sufficient
to say that in 1978 Jeff Hudson put out a self-financed EP featuring four
of his own songs plus one each by David Gates - 'If' - and Jimmy Webb - 'Didn't
We'. In addition to the two shown above the other original songs were
'Wearing My Heart On My Sleeve' and 'Bye-bye For Now'. The catalogue
number of the EP was JH-001; googling has failed to reveal the existence of any
others in that series. A Jeff Hudson had had a single out on Reality
Records some eleven years earlier, 'Where Could I Go' b/w 'A Lover's Cathedral'
(RE-506; 1967), but as to whether it was the same chap or not... Thanks to
Nicholas Hough for supplying the scan.
