IRRELEVANT WOMBAT
A contender for any 'Silly Label Name of the Seventies' competition,
Irrelevant Wombat was a DIY concern. It released two EPs by Exhibit A
during late 1979 and 80, and was presumably owned and run by that
band. The first EP was called 'No Elephants This Side Of Watford
Gap' (DAMP-1; 12/79); it featured the tracks 'In The Night', 'Fame And
Fortune', 'Digital Age' and Maniac Garden'. The second, 'Distance'
(DAMP-2; 1980), offered 'Distance', 'Platform 6' and 'Bollards' and had more
home-made-looking labels. Thanks to Dr. Doom of the 45cat site for the use
of his scan here.
