An independent concern from 1978-79, based at 63 Priory Grove, London SW-8. Ignition seems to have managed just two singles, Carbaretta's, You Must Be Kidding Me' b/w 'Scat' (IR-1; 4/78), and 'The One' b/w 'Look Sharp' by Substitute (IR-2; 1979). According to the cover of the latter the company also handled publicity and management. Distribution of the Carbaretta single was by Lightning; pressing of the Substitute was by Lyntone. As can be seen from the scans, the same basic label layout served for both records but the Substitute one lacked the pink colour and the car design.
