FAX
Something of a
mystery. Fax issued at least one single, Richard Hallifax's
'White Lines' b/w 'Thank You', which had a catalogue number of FR-1078.
The Music Master 'British Pop Singles 1975-88' book gives a release date of
January 1979, but it also gives Fax as 'Sax' and misses an 'l' out of
Hallifax. Neither manufacturer nor distributor are
listed. The high catalogue number in an unfamiliar series suggests a
custom pressing; it may be that '1078' stands for October 1978 and represents
the date of recording. The matrix numbers in the run-offs are RH
A1 and RH B1, and there's a 'Strawberry' in there also, for Strawberry
Studios. The single was produced by Paul Grade and Richard Hallifax.
Thanks to Anders Hansson for supplying the illustration and the various
details, and for thus enabling me to correct the original entry. Anders
also pointed out that there is a Swedish musician named Richard Hallifax.
Are the two the same, does anybody know?
