A DIY label, apparently a one-off. A single offering Bob Pryde's '6 Long Miles' and a version of 'Roll Out The Barrel' by The Eagle And Child Choir seems to have been Eagle And Child's only release. It was made through Stag Music (q.v.), as its HP-47 catalogue number reveals. Pryde had had a previous single out on Stag Music, 'Mrs. Butler's Eldest Son Bill' b/w 'Let's Go For A Spin' (HP-25; 1975), and he went on to put out an EP on his own 'Bob' label in 1977; in addition, different recordings of his version of a song called 'Santa's Little Helpers' surfaced on 202 BBC Radio Merseyside and State (q.v. all). This particular song is about a charity barrel-roll from Huyton city centre to a pub called the Eagle And Child, and is appropriately jaunty; presumably it was intended as a fund-raiser for that same charity. The 'B' side sounds as though it was recorded live in that pub, and is actually a medley; as well as 'Roll Out The Barrel' it contains renderings of 'Side By Side' and 'Who's Sorry Now'. According to an article in the Liverpool Echo, the pub, which is now demolished, was somewhat on the rough side. Pressing of the single was by Phonodisc.
