BOS
An obscure label from 1979. A single by Rock band
Trader, 'Back Street Trader' b/w 'Love On The Run', seems to have been BOS's
only release. The majority of sources don't give it a catalogue
number, but one mentions 'OE-1'; the music on the record is variously described
as NWOBHM and AOR, and the band was from Southampton. The label itself was
one of those which has a picture on one side and the writing on the
other. I haven't seen an illustration of the picture side, but
the one with writing on was white with black printing. It had 'BOS
records' in two lines at the top with a black line underneath, the 'BOS' being
in a plain non-italic font, the 'records' being in a gothic font. The
band's name, in big letters, was at the bottom of the label; the 'A' side title
was at nine o'clock, the 'B' at three. The prohibitions around the upper
part of the label were in a handwriting font. Thanks to Robert Bowes for
bringing the label to my attention.
