BLUE ANGEL (1)
This particular
Blue Angel was first of two which appeared in the late 1970s.
It issued three records, all of which were by The Idiots, with or without
Tone Deaf. A flexi-disc, 'Why Does Politics Turn Men Into
Toads', by Tone Deaf & The Idiots seems to have been the first on the
scene despite its catalogue number, BLI-2; it is reported to have been
issued in April 1978. A proper single by The Idiots, 'Operation
Julie' came out the following month and was numbered BLI-1; its subject
matter was an anti-drugs 'bust' by the police, which had taken place in the
previous year. 1979 saw the release of an album, 'Catastrophe Rock'
(BLISS-1). All were recorded in the Blue Angel studios, in York. The
label itself, which was yellow with blue printing, was of a plain
design: it had the words 'BLUE ANGEL' at the top, in two lines.
