A Reggae label, run by Tony Mahoney. Black Star Music issued at least four singles in 1976-77, using a BSM-000 numerical series; Mahoney's own 'False Preacher' b/w 'Burn False Preacher' (BSM-005; 1977) appears to have been the last of them. BSM-004 is currently unaccounted-for. All four records were produced by 'J. Lynch', which makes it seem probable that he played a role in the company, and they were recorded at Black Stars, a recording studio in London. The pressing marks on the labels of several of the singles suggest that they were manufactured by Linguaphone. Thanks to Mark Griffiths for the ownership information.
