BILLY GOAT

An uncommon and presumably short-lived label dedicated to contemporary Rockabilly / Rock 'n' Roll.  Billy Goat was owned by Terry Parker, and was based in Selsdon, Surrey.   The company's first single, Jim Carlisle's, 'Don't Start Crying Now' (BILL-001) appeared in August 1977, and had a white label with a black goat on it (1).  The goat turned red before the second single was issued and changed colours regularly.  According to Music Master a company called 'Chick-A-Boom' was responsible for manufacture; distribution was by Tonal, Lightning, Rough Trade and Bonaparte.  The discography below shows all the Billy Goat singles I have been able to trace.  HEP-501 was an EP.

Address in 1979:  71, Benhurst Gardens, Selsdon, South Croydon, Surrey.
