BEOWULF

Something of a mystery; and one of those cases where I've had to name a label after the band, though in this case the presence of a 'helmet' gives the band's name the appearance of a proper logo.  Rock band Beowulf put out what seems to be their only record, a self-financed single featuring 'Sick And Tired' and a cover of the Sutherland Brothers' 'Dream Kid', in 1975.  The catalogue number of the single was MS-1976, which, tantalizingly, fits in with the numerical sequence used by a couple of other self-financed records: see 'Celebrity Club' and 'Royalty'.  Presumably all three were made through the same company, perhaps a studio which offered custom recording facilities.  They all date from 1975, and were pressed by Phonodisc.  Thanks to Steve Hill for bringing Beowulf to my attention and for providing the scan.
