BEESWING
An
independent label from the Midlands, run by John Raven and singer / songwriter
Harvey Andrews. Beeswing seems to have been almost exclusively a
vehicle for new and reissued albums by Andrews: it issued four of them, in the
early '80s. It qualified for inclusion on this site by releasing at
least one single, in 1979: 'The Black Country Christmas Song', from the Original
Black Country Night Out Show (SBEE-001 / JHSPS-246). Recording was by
Zella Records, of Birmingham - the JHSPS number on the single was from the
standard Zella series - and pressing was by Decca.
