BBC RADIO NOTTINGHAM
The title says it all, really. BBC Radio Nottingham seems
to have made a momentary diversion from its usual occupation of broadcasting to
the Nottinghamshire area to issue a solitary single commemorating a visit of
the Queen and Prince Philip to Nottinghamshire, which took place on the 28th of
July 1977. The record contained selected highlights from the
radio station's ten-hour-long coverage of the events of the day, which isn't
something I can imagine people listening to repeatedly. There may be
quite a few copies of the single in the Nottingham area, though, understandably,
they appear to be scarce elsewhere. Its catalogue number was NG-1,
and it had a matrix number of DG-104, which, I have to admit, means nothing to
me. Presumably it was made through a local custom recording studio.
