BB
(1)
A Reggae label, owned by Bill Campbell and
Barbara 'Ginger' Williams. Going by the highest catalogue number that
I have happened upon so far, BB issued around 30 singles in the period
1976-c.78, though as can be seen from the discography below there
are several that I have not been able to trace. Thereafter it
seems to have concentrated on 12" singles, until it disappeared in the mid
'80s. Many of its records were Bill Campbell
productions. In the late '70s and early '80s it had a stablemate
in the Union label (q.v.) which again featured many of productions by Bill
Campbell or by members of his family. There would appear to be a
connection to the Jumbo label (q.v.) as well. Numbering was in the
BB-000 or BB-0000s. The company appears to have used just the one
label design, which came in several different colour schemes. Thanks
to Robert Bowes for the scan of the first three labels.
