BARE
Along with publishing company Quirk Music, Bare was
formed by Anthony Forrest and Stuart Francis, both of whom had
'extensive experience in the music and film indistries' according to 'Music
Week' of the 3rd of November 1979. Its first single, 'Heaven Is
In You' b/w 'Oh! What A Way Hi', by Jamie Wilde (BROO-1), came out that
same
month. According to Music Master its second (and apparently its last) single, Lizzee
Dee's, 'Love Will Find A Way' b/w ' Gotta Real Good Feelin''
(BROO-2), was released in January of the following year, through Pinnacle, though the
label has '1979' on it - it may possibly be that the record had
been out for some weeks before that distribution deal was reached, or perhaps its release was delayed for
some reason. Jamie Wilde was the
brother of Bay City Roller Leslie McKeown, which suggests that 'Heaven Is In
You' may have been aimed at the same kind of market that the Rollers tapped so
successfully. If that was the case, the single's rarity would appear
to indicate that it missed its target by some distance. Wilde had previously
had a single out on the Polydor label, 'You're My Baby'
b/w 'Without Love' (2058-902; 7/77).
